and where did Reiki originate? 1. What is Reiki and where did Reiki originate? Reiki is a laying-on of hands healing technique thousands of years old that assists in physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing. It is a simple, effective and powerful method of natural healing that uses the Reiki Symbols. The word Reiki (pronounced ray-key) comes from two Japanese words - Rei means universal and Ki is the life force - the non-physical energy that animates all living things. Reiki is defined as "Spiritually Guided Life Force Energy". Reiki Symbols - Reiki symbols connect directly to the Universal Consciousness. Whenever a Reiki symbol is used by someone who has Second Degree Reiki, The Universal Consciousness, or Rei, responds by changing the way the Reiki energy functions. The Reiki symbols are like keys opening doors to higher levels of awareness and manifestation. The attunement given by the Reiki Master actually empowers the symbols so that they will fulfill their intended purpose. Without the attunement, the symbols do not seem to do much. Buddhist practice that was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese
Buddhist. He first used Reiki on himself, and then tried it on his
family. Since it worked well for various ailments, he decided to
share this knowledge with the public at large. He opened the first
clinic in Tokyo in 1922. 2. Reiki is Spiritual in nature, but is not a religion. Whether you are a Christian, a Shaman, a Buddhist, a Muslim, a Wicca, or simply believe that there is a Higher Power out there in the Universe, Reiki with work through you. Because Reiki comes from God, it enables many people to go beyond intellectual concepts and directly experience their own spiritual beliefs, and their connection to The All. Considering the Miracles that Jesus Christ has performed, we all can agree that He was the most powerful healer on Earth despite ones religious beliefs; Jesus Christ is Divine Love! In His teachings, Jesus doesn't ask us to be healers, nor does he prohibit us from being healers. He just teaches us to learn how to truly love! Isn't it interesting to know that the heart chakra is connected with the palm chakras, and the healing powers are growing in direct proportion with our capacity of love? As we follow Jesus's teachings and open our hearts we all will eventually become healers. It is less important what the healing technique is called. Healing comes from God, it happen ONLY with God's will, and it is Divine LOVE! The practitioner is simply a tool in God's hand, a channel. Jesus said "Follow Me". What He really meant was "Love! BE LOVE!" As Sonia Choquette says in her book, "Diary of a psychic", "The ultimate lesson on Earth is Unconditional Love". Becoming creatures of Unconditional Love, we experience the Heaven in our hearts, in the Now. 4. The benefits of Reiki on the client:
